Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) give information on how to make your home more energy efficient and reduce carbon dioxide emissions. All homes bought, sold or rented require an EPC.
What does an EPC look like?
Information about energy efficiency and carbon emissions is summarised in two charts that show the energy and carbon dioxide emission ratings. The charts look similar to those supplied on electrical appliances, like fridges and washing machines. How long do they take?
Energy Solutions will typically supply your EPC to you within 24 hours of gaining entry to assess the property. It takes approximately 30 mins work at the property (typical semi detached). We will also email a copy to your Agent should you wish.
What do we assess?
We assess the following: Property dimensions. Age of property. Heating systems. Hot water system. Double glazing. Loft insulation. Cavity wall insulation. Low energy lighting. Secondary heating (e.g. gas fires, electric fires etc). Main floor construction. Wall construction. Conservatories.
This list is not exhaustive.
What do they contain?
- Information on your home's energy use and carbon dioxide emissions
- A recommendation report with suggestions to reduce energy use and carbon dioxide emissions.
How much do they cost?
Dependent on the size of the building (a six bedroom building will cost more than a two bed roomed terraced house). However typically £50.00 (total cost).
Why use Energy Solutions?
Well for a start we turn up and will not taken money up front!! There are a few companies on the web that take your money and do not turn up, obviously you are left having to get someone else to provide the EPC.
Why not use an Estate Agent?
Typically an Agent will put some commission on top for admin! Why pay a middle man, they will only employ a company similar to ourselves to produce the EPC anyway and you have paid £30.00 extra for the priviledge.
